APRIL 13-16: JACKIE "YACKS" SHENTU, ALEXIS & WOBZ, AND MONICA PARALES
MEET JACKIE "YACKS" SHENTU
At the age of 8 my mom placed me in ballet classes because I wasn't "girly" enough and she wanted me to stop playing with boys.In highschool I joined a dance company called orchesis which was heavily influenced in jazz and lyrical styles.then at the age of 15, my interest grew stronger in dance when I discovered the world of hip hop. The first hip hop dance group that i joined was groovaholix in 2003,then after high school I joined barkada modern in '05. as a founding member and director, barkada modern is what made dance the best experience of my life. It's from barkada modern which lead me into the hands of various opportunities and a strong support system from a family that never ceases to grow. In 2007 I was invited to join
the ever so sexy Sheroes. Never would I imagine myself dancing next to the infamous directors of sheroes, wobz and alexis. Recently I joined a new exhibition group called the minorities (based off the masses clothing brand) with directors richie and sean. My inspirations: kristine bueta, shaun evaristo, and ellen kim.

MEET ALEXIS AVILA
Alexis Avila started dancing when she was 16 years old at Artesia High School. As a child, Alexis was involved in Beauty Pageants and acting classes, but never took a dance class till after high school. Immediately addicted, Alexis was overwhelmed because learning new aspects of dance ignited a thirst in her that she couldn't deny. A friend from Team Millennia advised her to audition for their upcoming tryouts, and although scared, Alexis knew she was up for the challenge. Alexis made the auditions that year, and remained on the team for three more years. It is here where she began to craft leadership experience as the Captain of TM Juniors, thriving as their leader for 2 years. Alexis eventually explored other groups over time, performing with Team Boogiezone Breed for over a year. She has also made the jump from Captain to Director, creating her own team alled Sheroes, a group of strong-minded women whose focus is centered not only on dance, but also on service. Sheroes donates all funds they earn directly to various charities, among which include The Take A Stand foundation, and The Jennesse Center, a program dedicated to women who've suffered domestic Violence. Alexis eventually returned to the Team Millennia family, competing alongside her teammates (affectionately known as the “TM7”), for both Seasons 2 and 3 of TV’s America’s Best Dance Crew. Alexis continues to hone her craft
together with her fellow teammates, and enjoys teaching all she’s learned to other dancers.
MEET KRISTINE "WOBZ" BUETA
Kristine 'Wobz' Bueta started her training at the age of three at Shea's School of Dance. She trained extensively in ballet, jazz, and lyrical modern with MKR Dance Productions till the age of 17. She joined Team Millennia in 2003, training with TM and influencing them with her own particular flare and style. She eventually earned a
leadership position on Team Millennia Juniors, serving as their Captain in 2004. During this time she flourished as their teacher and mentor while gaining valuable leadership experience. Kristine is also the co-director of Sheroes, where she devotes most of her personal time developing them into a female force to be reckoned with. She has also choreographed for Barkada Modern, Mavyn, Sheroes, various
high schools, and MKR Dance Productions. Kristine has recently reconnected with her roots, representing Team Millennia as one of the TM7 on both season 2 and 3 of Randy Jackson's America's Best Dance Crew.
