MEET ADDISON O'CONNOR

Hey everyone, I'm Addison O'Connor. I've been trained in many styles of dance and performance since the age of 4. I trained intensely in ballet, modern, jazz and lyrical throughout my life. I was eventually introduced to tap, samba, and of course hip hop. I attended a performing arts high school in Los Angeles where I really developed my love for choreography as well. I am now in my fourth and last year at UC Irvine. I currently represent CADC and have been a part of the team for 4 years (you may recognize my as the "white girl" in our "Fantasia" set), I am also on Sheroes all-female crew and have been since it began almost a year ago. I was also on Boogiezone's BREED OC/LA team for over a year and performed in its amazing show "EVE: Dawn of a New Horizon". I have choreographed for all three teams as well as for the Asian Greek Dance competition for the Irvine Lambda Theta Deltas and Kappa Zeta Phis for three years. I have also danced in many dance projects over the past 4 years for Khai Nguyen, Nick Golla and Anna Rivera, CJ Edward's Expressive Doubt, Knicole Haggains and Marnita Billups, and Kristine "Wobz" Bueta, and performed at Carnival at the Key Club with many of these projects. Professionally I have also done a few plays, an instructional dance video, and danced promotionally for Miss Sixty and the arrival of "Hairspray" at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. I have been attending Boogiezone Class for almost 4 years now and am honored and super excited to be teaching! I hope many come out and enjoy my class!

MEET ELMBOOGIE PIZARRO

Elm Pizarro is an accomplished choreographer and teacher whose personal dance style has been described as smooth yet definite, hard hitting but fluid, with a hint of an "old school groove." With over 25 years of choreoraphy experience, Elm's dance background includes founding and leading several dance companies, performing a multitude of times for audiences in the thousands, and teaching hip hop internationally.

Elm is most known for creating www.boogiezone.com - YOUR online dance community which is an emerging internet dance website which currently has over 11,500 members worldwide. Join for Free.

He is also the co-founder of Team Boogiezone "Breed - Adult Exhibition Dance Company" (EST. 2003) and "Offspring - Junior Exhibition Dance Company" (EST. 2008) which as physical extensions of Boogiezone help to spread the Boogiezone philosophy of "Community" as members of these groups are made up of directors and members of several other competitive dance groups.

Over the years Breed has gained quite a reputation within the community as an exhibition company which continues to push the limits of concept and theming for stage shows. This past August 2007, Breed starred in their first major show with Elm serving as Creative Director along with Artistic Director Khai Nguyen, and Visual Arts Director Henry DeLeon. The team helped to create Boogiezone's first full fledged theatrical dance production entitled "EVE - Dawn of a New Horizon" otherwise known as the largest collaborative dance project ever organized. The much anticipated DVD will be released in the upcoming months! Look out for it.

Elm is also the creator of The Boogiezone Community Class which is recognized worldwide for offering some of the best hip hop instruction - as taught by up and coming and industry choreogaphers to the stars. This past November the Community Class became a "network" as two other Southern California dance studios adopted the program for a total of three. More local and international expansions for the network are currently in the works. Check out www.communityclass.com for more info.

This Tuesday, March 25, Elm celebrates his 34th birthday by teaching class for you. He would like to thank the entire Boogiezone community and friends and affiliates for their continued support with everything, and he hopes to see you in class!

Miguel Zarate

Miguel Angel Zarate. So, that’s what my parents named me 23 years ago when I was born. Since then I have done quite a bit of things to establish myself as one of the most creative and uniquely stylized choreographers of the new dance era. (a Bob Fosse, if you will) I am presently on and have been a part of teams and companies ranging from Kaba Modern, Funks LA, & Unity LA. Most importantly I was the first to ever showcase my art as a solo choreographer in a competitive/collegiate/exhibition arena. Basically, I was the first “project” with Invite Only in January of 2005 at Vibe 10. In almost 2 years I have released over 5 different solo projects, each showing you, the audience member my range in movement, character, and style. From Filthy Gorgeous to Hugs & Kisses, My style has redefined “gay” as well as “good” movement for years to come. Next, you can see me on Bravo TV on “Step It Up and Dance.” This will be my 3rd ever Boogie Zone Class! So come out and support. I guarantee it will be one of the best classes you will ever take.

JOEY COOPER

Stylistically an imaginative choreographer 27 year old joey cooper is a proud new resident of the greater los angeles area. A current member of team boogiezone breed oc/la joey has had the pleasure of continuing his pursuits in dance at a pace that consistently elevates his skills.

Joey has done work on one of the largest dance community/industry shows called "EVE Dawn of a New Horizon," as a principle dancer and segment choreographer. Along side his good friend Jaret Hughes they produced the Janet Jackson Tribute segment of the show, a ground breaking piece for the duo. recently he just wrapped work on another boogiezone production called Project Feedback, which he had the pleasure of writing, collaborating, and artistically directing a cast of immensely talented dancers for a video that won't be forgotten.

Looking to start out on the right foot now that he is an LA resident he will be working on his next big long term project. along side fellow washingon native jaret hughes the duo will introduce a new so-cal group the likes of which has not been seen called "Twisted Elegance."

He has worked and trained with industry choreographer Fusion, assisting on his first industry audition for sisqo. he has artistically directed stage shows, and television appearances for the san diego artist Lauren Silva, and is now setting his sights high on working for m.s.a as a choreographer/artistic director.

Joey says about his style:

"it can be sort of ****y, sexy, and always intricate. the musicality is always dead on, and the movements involve very much precision...oh and its fun to rock when u get it."

He is looking forward to teaching his third class for the community that has done so much for him.
