Nov. 10-13- Richard Ha, Marnita Billups, and Jessica Anderson-Gwin

RICHARD HA, MARNITA BILLUPS, AND JESSICA ANDERSON-GWIN NOV. 10 TO NOV. 13

MEET RICHARD HA

I am a dancer inspired to choreograph originally from the Bay Area. I started dancing when I was 17 years old and took it serious when I was in college. 909 Hip-Hop Troupe, UCR, was there to help continue my journey to pursue dancing. I was on 909 for two years and expanded my horizon with Beat Jerkeez and Expressive Doubt. I finally have the courage and chance to really step out of my realm and teach people what I have to offer in art. I recently exposed myself to choreography and would love to share it with you and everyone.

MEET JESSICA ANDERSON-GWIN

Jessica began dancing in the bay area at 9 years old with Yoko’s Performing Arts Studio. She competed in jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip hop nationally, and also trained in ballet. At 17 she started teaching her first jazz class, and became varsity dance team captain at her highschool. When she graduated highschool she got accepted into the UCLA World Arts and Cultures dance program where she has studied many different dance styles over the last three years such as ballet, modern/postmodern, West African, belly dancing, flamenco, afro-caribbean, and most of all hip hop. Within hip hop Jessica has gotten to dabble in many different styles such as locking, poppin’, whacking, and house. She has been on teams ACA Hip Hop, NSU Modern, Team Millenia, and currently dances with Expressive Doubt dance company directed by CJ Edwards. She has choreographed for music artists, fellow dancers, musical theater groups, and dance groups. Jessica has taught for Steps Styles and Spotlights dance studio, collegiate teams NSU Modern and ACA Hip Hop, Team Millenia’s SI summer workshop, and currently teaches hip hop in a mobile after school program for elementary schools around the LA area. Jessica can never decide quite what dance style she wants to learn and therefore has become a big melting pot of dance styles across many genres, and so hopes to bring a variety of styles to whatever class she teaches.
