JUNE 02 - JUNE 05 - FUNKANOMETRY SF WEEK

MEET ELLEN KIM

Ellen Kim began dancing with City Shock SF under the direction of Darnell Carroll when she was a sophomore in high school. She trained with City Shock for five years, and later became a dance captain and contributing choreographer for the group. Ellen has also danced with groups such as No Label, Khaotik, Culture Shock Oakland, and Khamai.

After joining Funkanometry SF in 2004, Ellen's passion for dance, as well as her amazing performance abilities, earned her a spot on the Funks SF Artistic Circle as one of their leading Dance Principals. She has since choreographed many pieces for the company, and continues to inspire and set a high standard for her fellow company members through her leadership and dance talent.

MEET KYLE HANAGAMI

Kyle is definitely one of the newest faces in the dance scene. Greatly inspired by CADC and Kaba Modern, Kyle started dancing in 2005 at UC Berkeley. Soon after, he joined Funkanometry SF as a 2006 Company Member. In the two years that he has been with Funkanometry SF, Kyle has had choreography showcased at Montage Showcase, Rhode Island's Midnight Madness, Chicago's Urbanite Showcase, Body Rock 2007, SF Hiphop Dancefest, Prelude 2007, and Vibe 2008. His choreography is challenging, weird, and very unique. You'll be sure to see more of him in the years to come.
