MAR. 3 TO MAR. 6

Miguel Zarate

Miguel Angel Zarate. So, that’s what my parents named me 23 years ago when I was born. Since then I have done quite a bit of things to establish myself as one of the most creative and uniquely stylized choreographers of the new dance era. (a Bob Fosse, if you will) I am presently on and have been a part of teams and companies ranging from Kaba Modern, Funks LA, & Unity LA. Most importantly I was the first to ever showcase my art as a solo choreographer in a competitive/collegiate/exhibition arena. Basically, I was the first “project” with Invite Only in January of 2005 at Vibe 10. In almost 2 years I have released over 5 different solo projects, each showing you, the audience member my range in movement, character, and style. From Filthy Gorgeous to Hugs & Kisses, My style has redefined “gay” as well as “good” movement for years to come. Next, you can see me on Bravo TV on “Step It Up and Dance.” This will be my 3rd ever Boogie Zone Class! So come out and support. I guarantee it will be one of the best classes you will ever take.

JOEY COOPER

Stylistically an imaginative choreographer 27 year old joey cooper is a proud new resident of the greater los angeles area. A current member of team boogiezone breed oc/la joey has had the pleasure of continuing his pursuits in dance at a pace that consistently elevates his skills.

Joey has done work on one of the largest dance community/industry shows called "EVE Dawn of a New Horizon," as a principle dancer and segment choreographer. Along side his good friend Jaret Hughes they produced the Janet Jackson Tribute segment of the show, a ground breaking piece for the duo. recently he just wrapped work on another boogiezone production called Project Feedback, which he had the pleasure of writing, collaborating, and artistically directing a cast of immensely talented dancers for a video that won't be forgotten.

Looking to start out on the right foot now that he is an LA resident he will be working on his next big long term project. along side fellow washingon native jaret hughes the duo will introduce a new so-cal group the likes of which has not been seen called "Twisted Elegance."

He has worked and trained with industry choreographer Fusion, assisting on his first industry audition for sisqo. he has artistically directed stage shows, and television appearances for the san diego artist Lauren Silva, and is now setting his sights high on working for m.s.a as a choreographer/artistic director.

Joey says about his style:

"it can be sort of ****y, sexy, and always intricate. the musicality is always dead on, and the movements involve very much precision...oh and its fun to rock when u get it."

He is looking forward to teaching his third class for the community that has done so much for him.
